Terms & Policies

Discrimination: I strive to maintain a safe space that is open and accepting to all, free of discrimination. I’m not an expert when it comes to gender, race, ethnic, and other identities and communities, but am always ready to learn as long as your community doesn’t practice hate or intolerance.

Hygiene: I maintain a hygienic practice and ask that clients reciprocate by being reasonably bathed and free of any infectious conditions for their scheduled session. If you need any special accommodations please let me know ahead of your scheduled session.

Cancelation Policy: Schedule changes due to illness or medical emergency can be made at any time free of fees. Appointment changes should be made at least 24 hours in advance for no additional fee. Unexcused appointment changes within 24 hours of the scheduled session will be subject to a 50% charge of the session fee. If you can find someone to take your place, fees are waived.

Outcall Procedure: I provide my own transportation to reach you, equipment to work, and service. I ask that clients have a space clean and cleared for the appointment time to avoid spending our session together on set up. The space should have adequate room for a massage table as well as space to move around the table, approximately 10x5 feet. If you live in San Francisco or anywhere where parking is difficult, I may need to drop my equipment off with you first before finding parking (the table can be heavy to carry more than a few blocks!).

Booking and Payment Procedures: I offer online booking with payment in person after the session. A credit card is held when the appointment is scheduled in case a cancellation fee needs to be charged. For outcalls, the rate depends on the distance and session length, but for more information see the services page. Cash and check are preferred, but I also take venmo, zelle, and credit / debit cards with an additional $3-5 fee to cover each respective service fees.

Tipping: Tipping is not mandatory, but is greatly appreciated if you feel the service provided was great! If you’re not able to tip but you would have liked to, you can help support my small business by referring your friends, offering constructive criticism or feedback from our session, or making another appointment.

Ethics and Certifications: I am CAMTC Certified Massage Therapist # 91703. I am professionally insured by ABMP and operate under their national code of ethics. I offer non-sexual massage and have a zero-tolerance policy for sexual advances.

Refusal of Service: I reserve the right to terminate a session or refuse service for any reason, with or without refund.

Consent to Treatment Agreement : If I experience any pain or discomfort during this session, I will immediately inform the practitioner so that the pressure and/or strokes may be adjusted to my level of comfort.

I understand that Matthias Philippine is not qualified to perform spinal or skeletal adjustments, diagnose, or prescribe and that our sessions should not be construed as a substitute for medical examination, diagnosis, or treatment and that I should see a physician or other qualified medical specialist for any mental or physical ailment of which I am aware. I agree to consult with my physician if I have any concerns with receiving massage therapy prior to attending a massage therapy appointment.

Because massage should not be performed under certain medical conditions, I affirm that I have stated all my known medical conditions and answered all questions honestly. I agree to keep the practitioner updated as to any changes in my medical profile and understand that there shall be no liability on the practitioner’s part should I fail to do so.

I also understand that any illicit or sexually suggestive remarks or advances made by me will result in immediate termination of the session, and I will still be responsible for full payment of the session.

Understanding all of this, I give my consent to receive care.
